Cheshire Best Kept Stations Alderley Edge Station Alderley Edge Town Vast landscapes

Surrounded by attractive countryside and the legendary wooded escarpment from which it takes its name, the village centre of Alderley Edge is home to a number of speciality food shops, restaurants, clothes shops and stylish bars. Farmers markets are held on the 2nd Sunday of each month at the Festival Hall. The station, which is located in the centre of the village, benefits from three trains an hour to Manchester.

The surrounding area is pleasant walking and cycling country, with the Cheshire Cycleway passing nearby. The Edge itself, with its legends, old mines and panoramic views, makes a fascinating visit. The area is also home to Astra Zeneca pharmaceuticals, one of the North West’s major employers.

Alderley Edge now has a significantly improved southbound service from Manchester, with better timings.
