Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and magnificent architecture of the City of Chester. Chester is famous for its Roman walls, The Rows (historic two-tiered shopping galleries) and horse racing at The Roodee. Internationally-famous collections of Roman artefacts are exhibited at the GROSVENOR MUSEUM, with its galleries of Roman tombstones, silver and natural history. Free to rail users is the Rail Link Bus which runs from the station to the city centre every 10 minutes in the daytime from Monday to Saturday. Ten minutes walk from the station is Chester Cathedral. Amongst its outstanding features are the Cobweb Picture, the Quire stalls and the surrounding gardens. A bus ride away is CHESTER ZOO - a great day out for the family - where there are over 5,000 animals to see, including the UK's largest breeding colonies of chimpanzees and orang-utans. Regular trains run direct from the station to Birmingham, Cardiff Knutsford Liverpool, London, Manchester, Shrewsbury, and the North Wales Coast - and many other day-trip destinations.
