LYME PARK is a glorious mansion house now owned by the National Trust.  The Tudor house was transformed into a huge Italianate palace in the 18th century and is the largest house in Cheshire.  It has a tranquil Victorian garden, a vast medieval deer park, moorland and woodland estate to explore.  The famous scene in the TV adaptation of Pride & Prejudice where Darcy emerges from a lake was filmed here in 1995.

For over 115 years DISLEY GOLF CLUB has offered enjoyable facilities and genuine friendship through a wide range of social activities.  They welcome new members, visitors, golf societies and corporate clients to their picturesque course with magnificent views over the Pennines and Cheshire plain.

In 2005 the DISLEY CRICKET CLUB was awarded ClubMark accreditation by the ECB and Sport England and is now regarded as an ECB Focus Club. The club has a number of ECB qualified coaches who work with all of the Disley sides as well as several local schools.

To the north of Disley, the River Goyt and the Peak Forest Canal, which opened in 1800, pass along the edge of the village.
