Prestbury’s reputation stems from the large villas and elegant houses along leafy narrow roads.  Many of Prestbury’s buildings date from the 15th and 16th centuries and tremendous effort has been made to preserve the village’s character.

One of the oldest buildings is the PRIEST'S HOUSE, the timber-framed former vicarage dating back to 1448 which is now a bank.  Also of interest is the Reading Room, erected in 1720, and now housing a library, a bank, an estate agent’s and the Parish Council Chamber.

Dominating the centre of the village is ST PETER'S CHURCH, dating back to the 13th century but restored in 1879 by Sir George Gilbert Scott.
