Also less than a mile away from Runcorn East is RUNCORN SKI CENTRE. It is situated in 800 acres of landscaped park and is open every day except Christmas day. It offers recreational skiing, snowboarding, snowblading. Also on offer are group and individual lessons, from ages 4 upwards.

The HALTON MINIATURE RAILWAY starts from Mousetrap Hall Station next to the Ski Centre and runs for almost a mile through the park. It is one of the longest 7¼" gauge railways in the country. Trains run most Sunday afternoons from 1.30 - 4.30pm.
